Celebrated Sudanese Contemporary Artist and Art Researcher Mowaffag Abdalla is renowned for his innovative use of oil paintings and acrylic illustrations. He stands as a luminary within Sudan’s contemporary art scene. With a distinctive style characterised by vibrant colours and profound thematic exploration, his works serve as a captivating testament to the rich tapestry of Sudanese culture and the human experience.

He sees the world in an elastic way; that a very large place can shrink on a small rectangular canvas. He tries to make paintings that have the effect of moving atmospheres. So, Mowaffag continually pushes the boundaries of contemporary art, seeking to capture the essence of Sudanese landscapes, culture, and heritage through his evolving body of work.

Has been selected as an artist fellow in the Salama Bint Hamdan Emerging Art Fellowship in collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design in Abu Dhabi.
